Maiko
Tea's Original Konbu (Kelp) Tea
Konbu
tea is a Japanese kelp-flavoured tea. Maiko's original konbu (kelp) tea uses natural
sea salt obtained from the Seto Inland Sea, warmed by sunlight. Very abundant
in trace minerals, this tea can also be used as a flavouring for cooking.
In
Japan, Konbu (kelp) is often seen at celebrating occasions to
symbolize felicity.
This is because the 'konbu' is similar to the
word 'yorokobu' which means 'to
rejoice' in Japanese. It has a very unique flavour, which is the reason of its
popularity.
