From the good old days... rice crackers, green tea candy, konbu (dried kelp), O-mame (baked broad beans)... Please enjoy a true traditional Japanese flavour... simple and decent. Unlike many of today's processed snacks with excessive additives, these snacks have an undisguised delicate taste. In addition, they are very healthy!

The product name 'baachanyaki' is derived from the fact that these crackers are homemade by a Grandma ("baachan" in Japanese). Made from selected rice grown with spring water from a valley by Fugenji Temple (Kyotanabe City). With Grandma's sure skill refined over years of practice, these rice crackers are dried in the cold winter winds, and finally baked over hot charcoal.

Chako's Comment
The faint taste of soysauce is so addictive! Grandma prepares these during the winter with wholehearted care...

These broad beans, grown in the grandeur of nature, are dried under natural sunlight for days, then roasted over hot charcoal. Enjoy the genuine taste of broad beans. ('Mame' means beans in Japanese.)

Chako's Comment
These beans may be a bit hard for some people to eat. But did you know, beans are nutritious, especially abundant in protein that they are nicknamed "beef of the fields!" My mother tells me that chewing these beans will help my jaws develop!

Naturally harvested kelp (kobu/konbu) is dried under the open sun, and cut into strips for convenience when eating... Konbu is rich in glutamic acid, an amino acid responsible for umami, one of the five basic tastes. This is why such a simple snack can be so delicious. Savor the flavour of the ocean... Perfect for teatime.

Chako's Comment
You can really savor a taste of the ocean in your mouth! This snack is my father's favourite - he eats so much at once! At first, it didn't fit my taste... but the unique taste grows on you!

Chako's Comment
It's nice that all three flavours come in one bag! I like all of these
snacks, so it's perfect for customers like me, who can't decide which of the three to get. Processed snacks are okay, too, but in my grandmother's generation, simple delicacies like these were snacks; she told me they bring back memories.
